Award Winning Website Boosts Non-Profits Revenues,
While Making News with History

stone barns centerPerhaps one of the most daunting tasks for any non-profit is developing a relatable and compelling image that finds sympathetic donors for their cause.

With that in mind, Bedford’s Historical Society aimed to revolutionize their own image, in hopes of furthering their mission of ensuring their town’s heritage through ten historical buildings and over 95 acres of land.

A well thought out website can mean the difference between lukewarm results and a thriving community of support. The Bedford Historical Society recently launched their newly designed site this summer and has now won an award from the Greater Hudson Heritage Network Towards Excellence, giving them yet another opportunity to make news with history.

The new site brings an automated efficiency to record keeping, including mailing lists while it also enables online ticket purchasing for society events. An online gallery of historical and event images was added to garner visual interest to the site, while promoting a greater understanding among visitors.

“One of the biggest parts of the collaboration was understanding the client’s desire for a commercialized presentation of their website, that might have worked for a retail establishment, while relying on our experience to dictate the right course of action. In this case we designed and developed a tailored, refined site focused on the target audience and the results have been great,” says J Berry.

Designed for Exposure
Client Revs up Visibility Culminating with a Visit from First Lady Obama and a Host of U.N. Guests

stone barns centerContracted to design an engaging and user friendly website for Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture, JB Design highlights the need for proper branding in the non-profit sector.

“Here was this fantastic center with a lot of political backing and resources attached to it, but without a way to engage those in the immediate and national community to their mission,” said J. Berry of the challenges Stone Barn’s Center and other non-profits face.

By creating a consistent brand identity, the newly launched website is now able to reach a diverse audience. This saves the center money in marketing as well as automating community outreach and records. Now a wide range of visitors use the site— kids go to learn about day camp, people go there to learn about sustainability or composting and farmers go there to learn about farming.

Just last week First Lady Michelle Obama and a contingent from the UN visited Stone Barn, in an effort to highlight the need for sustainable farming and organic nutrition, as reported in The New York Times Promoting Healthy Eating, With 31 Other First Ladies. The new high traffic website is now the perfect stage to capitalize on this latest achievement, giving the center a growing momentum that can only build over time. They're out to make a difference. We're helping them do it.

The creators of Cuf Cakes started their company just a few months ago with a simple idea: Sell high-quality, fun products in order to raise money to cure kids of a range of diseases. Cuf Cakes had a truly nifty product – stylish clip-on pant cuffs and matching belts – and a potentially huge market of women who enjoy blending fashion sense with a sense of social responsibility. What Cuf Cakes needed was a way to get to market – fast!

A month ago, they turned to JB Design for help, and we began providing them with swift and enthusiastic strategic counsel and professional design – including their logo – to make their marketing ideas come vividly to life. Recently we helped them launch their e-commerce site and are now hard at work on designs for their collateral and packaging.

We're honored to be helping Cuf Cakes to realize their world-changing mission. We hope you'll visit their new web site – www.cufcakes.com – and see the exciting work we're doing together.
